You know when you're in the grocery store and they hand out free samples to get you to buy a product? Well, Linux is like that except there is no product to buy. Linux is completely free. How do I get a Linux Distribution? You download it from the Internets. Then you burn it to a CD/DVD. Finally, Install it. Can I try out Linux before I commit to it? Why yes, you can. Many of the Linux Distributions offer a 'Live CD'. Toss it into your CD drive and reboot your computer. |
